Export ChatGPT to PDF

How to export ChatGPT to PDF

  1. Install Stashkin from the Chrome Web Store

Click Add to Chrome. No account is needed for the Free plan.

  2. Open the conversation on chatgpt.com

Scroll is not required: Stashkin reads the whole conversation, not just the visible part.

  3. Pick a paper size, once

Stashkin Options, Export, Paper size: A4 or Letter. A4 is the default, and the choice sticks for every PDF after it.

  4. Click the Stashkin icon and choose PDF

The PDF tile under Quick exports saves the whole conversation, or only the assistant replies if you switch the scope above the tiles. Select messages… lets you tick the messages you want first. For a single reply, click the Export button beside that reply and choose PDF.

  5. Open the download

The file is named after the conversation title and opens in any PDF viewer. Chrome shows it in the downloads shelf as soon as it is written.

  • Code blocks with syntax highlighting and their language
  • Formulas, typeset from the LaTeX ChatGPT wrote
  • Images, embedded at page width
  • Clickable links and the sources ChatGPT cited
  • Emoji, drawn as they appear in ChatGPT
  • A4 or Letter page size, from Options

Free vs Pro

Frequently asked questions

Why not just print the ChatGPT page to PDF?

Print to PDF captures the web page: sidebar, buttons, dark background, and code that wraps or is cut off. Stashkin typesets the conversation itself, so the PDF reads like a document, with real headings, page breaks between blocks, and formulas that stay formulas.

Does the PDF include images and charts?

Yes. Images ChatGPT generated and images you uploaded are embedded in the PDF at page width.

Are formulas rendered or left as LaTeX?

Rendered. Inline and display formulas are typeset in the PDF the way ChatGPT shows them, not left as raw dollar-sign LaTeX.

Can I export one reply instead of the whole conversation?

Yes. Every reply gets an Export button beside its copy button; choose PDF there and only that reply is saved.

What does the footer say, and can I remove it?

On the Free plan every page ends with a small "Exported with Stashkin" line. Pro lets you switch it off in Options.

What happens after 3 PDFs in a day on Free?

The PDF tile waits until the next day. Word has its own daily limit of 8, and Markdown, Text, Image, JSON and copy stay unlimited, so a fourth PDF can become a Markdown file in the meantime.
